The coventry job came out as I had envisioned, and  more than satisfying the client., they are happy....
I was somewhat miffed at your request for an additional 500 dollars and asked myself , a finders fee is fine but 500. . . . .
what did the 1st 500 cover. ?
My perspective is this,
client contacts you with budget of 3800. and  theme wish list.
You take pictures and forward clients emails, . . . .. . ya I'll do that for 500 any day
I come up with visual concept as per theme list, computer time approx 10 hrs and just like magic along with 60 files in Coventry file folder I forward layout art, which is then given OK'd by client., ...mmmm is that sales . . . .  They did say OK and were happy to spend their budget on 298 sq ft or 12.75 cents a sq ft , . . . . . . OK lets make them happy and not short change the layout based on marginal budget., ( including entrance way copy that was a freebee ) . Remember phone conversation I had with you, signwork was averaging 15 - 18 per sq ft, murals 18 to 42 per sq ft and at this time I'm choosing to do higher end work which represents my capabilities., do the right thing and reach for the higher quality creativity.  
I orchestrate entire job process start to finish, materials - ordering - research, equipment aka endless maintenance, truck, and  business cost - per,fed,corp txs and fees, acct 1200 a yr,  acquired space to work,-- ( no money involved but I took care of the artist Gabriel who got me in the door, and assured Orin - BLDG OWNER - of a favor in future, ) canvas painting a good idea less hassle with on site bs..... I have logged 77 hrs into this job and probably yet another 2-3 with cleaning and re-organizing all the stuff. I kept  hours on this job and at $1000. for you and added to all the other overhead, .. I would be paying you at a much higher rate than I pay myself. . . . . . fair enough ?   And if you haven't noticed I carry all the " make it happen responsibility ". Welcome to my world.,  education-experience-make it happen.

Most hired artists expect to do drawing work, mix colors, color model and texture surfaces, outline, shade and airbrush, work 8 hrs and ask to stay and work extra for the privlege of doing what they love. Yes I have artists emailing me for a chance to do a project, professional artists.  This aside I have paid you the courtesy of overlooking your arriving time, time spent, endless blah blah cell phone time and family drama.

It comes down to I would just as soon  send you a "finders fee" 6% standard like real estste,.  I can go about my art biz and you can do your physical conditioning biz, everyone is happy .
